Let the beauty of what you love be what you do. - Rumi

Second-generation therapist

I’m a second-generation therapist, raised on warm beach sand, and reading Mom’s  Psychology Today instead of homework. Those dog-eared, surf-lapped pages nourished my desire to work with others and help them tend their souls. A passion for humanity, and an unquenchable thirst for deeper meaning, guided me through a journey of discovery of my authentic self, and becoming a therapist.

Life experience

Early adulthood exploration as: actress, dancer, college DJ, bike messenger, filmmaker, skateboarder, foreign publicist, and world traveler made for a diverse resume. In mid-life, I’ve served as a bilingual teacher (Spanish-English), parent educator, and radio producer. I am a parent, and also a partner in a long-term relationship. Life experience in the education, communication and creative industries inspired me to attend graduate school, for professional licensure as a counselor.

MA in Counseling Psychology

I received an MA in Counseling Psychology from Pacifica Graduate institute in 2015, with an emphasis in Depth Psychology. Relevant coursework included clinical skill in dual diagnoses, family systems, dream interpretation, and symbols and archetypes. As part of my masters program, I published a thesis on my transformation from training my Standard Poodle for animal assisted therapy work. Currently, my Moyen poodle, Sadie Sage, and I are in training to become our own pet therapy team.

I love the beauty in what I do

My professional experience includes counseling children, adults, couples, families, and groups. As a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor, I engage clients with tools and resources to overcome challenges with mental health, addiction, abuse, and life transition. There is a solution to every problem, and my clients’ self-discovery and growth guide their journey to personal and professional success. As a therapist I love the beauty in what I do, and do what I love.
